Payment & Security

Sending a large sum to a company you have not met is a reasonable thing to be careful about. Here is precisely how payment works with us, why it works that way, and what we will never ask you to do.

How payment works

Bank transfer, SEPA or SWIFT, settles nearly every purchase. That is standard practice at this value. Auction houses and established dealers work the same way, because card networks are not designed for single five-figure items.

Nothing is transferred on the strength of a message. We issue a formal invoice first, carrying our company name, registered office, SIREN, SIRET and intracommunity VAT number, so you have everything you need to check us before a euro moves.

Card payment is available to established clients on request. If we have dealt with you before, ask and we will arrange it.

Verify us before you pay

A bank transfer carries less automatic protection than a card. That is precisely why we publish everything you need to check us independently, and why we would rather you did.

We are a registered French company. Our legal name, registered office, capital, SIREN, SIRET and VAT number are published on our contact information page. French company records are public: search the SIREN on the official registry and confirm we are exactly who we say we are. Compare what you find against the invoice we send you. The details should match precisely.

Take the time. Any legitimate dealer will expect you to.

What we will never do

  • Ask you to send funds to a personal account, or to any account in a name other than ours.
  • Ask you to send funds to a country unconnected with our business.
  • Ask for payment in cryptocurrency, or to a wallet address sent over social media.
  • Change our bank details by email mid-transaction. If you receive a message claiming our account has changed, it is not from us.
  • Pressure you to pay quickly because a piece is about to go to someone else.

If you receive a message claiming to be from us and asking for any of these things, stop, and call us on our published number before doing anything at all.

Why we do not sell through automated checkout

Every purchase is arranged personally, by message or in conversation. At this value it is the right way to work: you get answers to your questions before you commit, we confirm the piece is still available, and both sides know exactly who they are dealing with.

Invoicing and VAT

Every sale is invoiced properly. Business buyers and trade clients should tell us before purchase so the invoice is issued correctly for your VAT position.

Your piece is insured from the moment it leaves

Every shipment is insured for its full declared value, tracked, and released only against a signature. See delivery and shipping.
